More about TorrentBoy →

A kid with a talking watch, a teddy bear with a laser blaster, and an entire TorrentSphere that needs defending. In 2009 the world bible was opened to contributors — anyone could write in it, and several people did.

This is the clearest ancestor of the Commons: a world deliberately built to be added to rather than guarded.
